Experience:
Over 35 years of labor and employment law experience, including hundreds of grievance arbitrations and hearings involving contract interpretation, discipline and discharge, line of duty disability claims, and administrative separations. Served as a panel member and advocate in interest arbitration proceedings following bargaining impasse. Represented clients in improper practice charges arising from claims of past practice, retaliation, anti-union animus and other proceedings before a public employment relations board. Mediated the settlement of dozens of federal lawsuits involving wage and hour, contract and discrimination claims. Served as an impartial hearing officer in discipline cases. Conducted outside investigations of employment-related claims of unlawful discrimination and misconduct. Litigated claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act, and Title VII. Retired colonel, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.
